A business card... and a game?

If you've scanned a QR code to get here, then welcome! I'm Bee, here to introduce Card Clash - a little project I cooked up prior to the meeting at which you got handed one of my business cards. Within the space of about three days, I've designed, playtested, and prototyped this game in a rudimentary state; but the version hopefully in your hands should be way more polished. It ought to take anywhere from 2-5 minutes to play, can be played with anywhere from 2-4 players, and is suitable for anyone ages 7 and up; though I'll guess that if we met at a showcase or business meeting, that last part won't be something we need to worry about.
For more information on the designing and development process, feel free to check out my blogpost on the subject! If you're more interested in actually playing the game, though; let's get into the setup and rules. (Don't worry, it's simple!)
Setup
These little guys are your Clashers! Which one did you get?
First things first, you'll need to get your Clasher ready for battle. Cut along the dotted line, then fold the two "legs" forward, and the middle section backward. Try and shuffle the folds a little to make sure they're sturdy before beginning play!
Then, you'll want to set up your Clashers roughly two feet (a full armspan, give or take!) from one another on a flat surface - whether it's a table, the floor, or a tatami mat, it's all good. Make sure they're facing each other!
How to Play
Actually playing Card Clash is simple and approachable for almost anyone!
- Determine the starting player; whoever most recently gave someone a card of any kind starts!
- The starting player needs to flick their Clasher into their opponent's Clasher. Knock them down, and you'll deal damage!
- But don't panic! If your enemy's Clasher passes yours and doesn't hit it, you can try to catch it after it's passed yours.
- Then, the next player in the rotation goes. The winner's the last player standing!
Scoring Shenanigans
Each Clasher starts the game with 5 health. Successfully knocking over a Clasher deals damage, but;
- If your Clasher bounces off the the floor before knocking over the opponent's Clasher, deal 1 damage!
- If your Clasher manages to knock over your opponent's while airborne, deal 2 damage!
- Should your Clasher's health be drained all the way to zero, they're out. Try again next time!
- If you catch your opponent's Clasher after it passes yours without hitting it, regain 1 health!
- But, your health can't ever go above five in total.
As mentioned; the last Clasher standing is the victor. But just who are these enigmatic combatants?
Here Come The Card Challengers!
The Fighter!
"You must defeat Origami Master to stand a chance!"
Wandering all over the world in search of new opponents, the Fighter always focuses on their training in Card-Fu above anything else. Some say there is a darkness deep within them - thankfully, years of training with the enigmatic Origami Master have helped to seal it for now. They love a good spar, though.
The Hero!
"I should have known it'd be dangerous to go alone."
Always ready for the next great quest, the Hero seeks only to vanquish evil and fulfil the strange prophesies foretold by various wizards... but they absolutely insist they’re not an errandboy. It just so happens that if they don't do as the wizards say, the world will end... according to the wizards. And they can't let that happen!
The Worker!
"I better be getting paid for this..."
Whether pushing blocks or fixing pipes, the Worker's took on all kinds of challenges. They're something of an everyman, and you'll often find them getting in way over their head - but somehow prevailing regardless. Even with such an extensive resume, however, it seems card-based combat is new to them.
